The View From Here

Rocky Mountain National Park

We don't make it up to Rocky Mountain National Park too much in the Winter/Spring, since the main viewing road (Trail Ridge Road) is mostly closed down, and all of the snow prevents most of the hiking we typically visit for in the first place, BUT, our friends were in town from Florida this past weekend....

So we definitely had to make a special trip! It was snow-packed and we didn't get to do any hiking (lack of snow shoes), but we got some great views and a nice day outside in the mountains!

Bear Lake was completely frozen and snow-covered, so we were able to walk directly across and see some pretty massive icicle formations!

They haven't even left, and I already miss them, but I'm so grateful for the time we got with them! And lucky for us, we'll be on our way to Florida in two weeks for my mom's wedding, so we'll be seeing them again ;)

Can't wait until it warms up and I can post a better guide to RMNP! In the meantime, check out our other Colorado adventures, like this trip to the Great Sand Dunes!
