Rob and I decided not to throw our annual Halloween party this year - mostly because it's SO much work, and alot of our friends wouldn't have been here to enjoy it, so we opted instead to make some costumes last minute and go out on Pearl with a smaller crowd instead. It was a good choice - downtown Boulder is a riot on Halloween, in all the best ways.
Going out as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, we mostly DIY'd our costumes. I wore a black fitted dress (it was actually a skeleton dress that I turned inside out!), a zip-up sweater, leggings, black boots, and of course the red cape. Threw on some winged liner and red lips, and I was ready!
I pieced it together myself because all of the packaged 'Little Red Riding Hood' costumes were super expensive and way too skimpy for how cold it was outside! I'm not against revealing costumes on Halloween, don't get me wrong, but I will never prioritize looking hot when I'm freezing. It's just not going to happen. #floridagirl
Rob had bought this awesome 'Big Bad Wolf' mask, but we needed a few things to pull the whole look together - the flannel shirt and jeans were a give-in, and the wolf hands were a DIY touch by yours truly ;)
We bought a 'Wolf Ears' headband accessory from a Halloween store, and pulled off the ears (they slid right off the headband). Then we bought a $1 pair of grey gloves from Target, and hot glued those babies down.
(Warm) wolf hands complete!
